We’ve all heard the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” but did you know apples can also be used to keep baked goods moist and make a great face mask? In honor of Apple Day (Oct. 21st), here is our list of a few creative ways you could be using apples this fall.

Shrunken Apple Head Decorations
Halloween is right around the corner, so get your fall decor ready with this awesome shrunken apple head craft. You can get really creative with this one, and kids absolutely love to join in the fun. The drying process can take a week or two (depending on how humid it is where you live), so make sure to give yourself enough time to get your creepy creations ready for the holiday.
Apple Honey Face Mask
Here’s your science lesson for the day! Apples contain glycolic acid, which helps exfoliate your skin, clear your pores, and remove the look of stress and fatigue. Blend a peeled, cored, apple with 2 tablespoons of honey and apply the mask to your face and wait about 10-15 minutes. That’s all it takes to make a fruity face mask.
Apple Cider
One of the pillars of fall, apple cider, is not only full of vitamin C, but it’s also really easy to make at home for your family and friends. Once you’ve made your cider, fill up a mug and add a cinnamon stick for a decorative (and flavorful) touch.
Caramel Apples
It wouldn’t be fall without caramel apples! You don’t need many ingredients to make them, and they are definitely a crowd pleaser with the kids! Gooseberry Patch made some really beautiful looking caramel apples with added flair by rolling them in sprinkles, candy corn, and chopped nuts.
Fall Potpourri
Make your home smell like an orchard without the harmful chemicals found in air fresheners. Simply add dried apple slices with your favorite fall smells, like cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, oranges, carnations, and sweet woodruff leaves to create an apple potpourri that will take you to an autumn wonderland.
