Animals change lives. That’s what the team at the Nutrena brand believes, and that’s why they have created Feed It Forward, a giving program to help organizations that share their belief in the life-changing bond between animals and people. The Feed It Forward program is offering grants to qualifying organizations, raising awareness for their amazing work, and continuing efforts to help animals in immediate need in disaster-struck areas.

Feed it Forward: We Can Ride

Just one of the several inspiring organizations recently awarded a Feed It Forward grant, is We Can Ride of Maple Plain, MN. The organization helps people who need physical therapy by connecting them with horses. The people who go through the program at We Can Ride get more out of it than just time spent with horses. The movement of the horse helps move core muscles on people who may not be able to move and exercise those muscles easily on their own. The guests see huge physical benefits from the therapy, even though they may not be bearing a lot of weight on their muscles themselves. Their visitors have credited the program and specific horses with giving them back a range of mobility that they thought was lost or that they never had.

How You Can Get Involved!

Organizations that are typically supported include service and therapy animals, animal education and animals in need.
